Origen Thailand

The first release in our Origen series is a rare mahogany spirit shaped by two cultures. After 12 years aging in tropical Thailand, its journey continues with reverse finishing in sherry casks that have aged Oloroso for over 80 years in Jerez, Spain. Cacao, spice, citrus, and coconut mingle with tamarind and lemongrass, culminating in a sea-kissed rum that glows with eastern warmth and layered complexity.

Aged for 12 years in Bourbon casks in Thailand, then finished in rare vintage 80-year-old Oloroso Sherry casks in Spain for a period of 6 months using the unique Solera System of Aging.

Rich. Ripe. Smooth. Dos Maderas 5+5 is dark amber in color, this intriguing rum offers fig and raisin notes at first, leading to rich, ripe fruit on the palate. This is seasoned by some tropical spice and wrapped in sherry notes, with wisps of smoky oak and a touch of tobacco leaf. Additional aging time in Pedro Ximénez casks gives this rum a sweet richness that’s best appreciated neat or on the rocks, and is beautifully paired with cigars and chocolate. That same character makes it ideal for classic cocktails such as a Daiquiri, Mojito, Mai Tai, and Piña Colada. Subsititue the 5+5 in other classic cocktails such as an Old Fashioned, Espresoo Martini, Manhattan and more.
