Orange Liqueur

The name "Bauchant" is French for “beautiful song.” The recipe for this rare orange liqueur — totally unique when it was introduced in the 1970s and still one of the only orange liqueurs made in Cognac — is an aged, triple-distilled base of VS and VSOP Cognac. Masterfully blended with a proprietary selection of orange essences from Curaçao and aged in French oak barrels, the final spirit delivers exceptional complexity and depth. Silky soft textures unfold into a luscious, honeyed orange palate, lifted on the finish by creamy notes of butterscotch.

The distillery team adds only VS and VSOP Cognac, triple distilled and sourced from carefully selected growers in the Cognac region. VS (short for “very special”) refers to an aged Cognac liqueur crafted from eaux-de-vie (brandy) aged for at least two years. VSOP (“Very Superior Old Pale”) indicates a Cognac made from eaux-de-vie aged for at least four years. Next, a proprietary blend of orange essences from Curaçao is added, giving a beautiful balance of bitter and sweet orange flavor. As the finishing touch, the team ages the liqueur in seasoned wood casks for several years, which increases its flavor complexity and makes for a smoother mouthfeel.

Harvest gold hue. Delicate aromas of orange blossom and juicy-ripe, ripe fresh-squeezed tangerine. The palate is silky textured and complex with intense, luscious orange and tangerine flavors underscored by notes of caramel and butterscotch.
