Sourced from some of the first vineyards Salentein planted at high altitude in the Valle de Uco, more specifically at Los Árboles, the 2015 Numina Chardonnay looks for a fresh and vibrant style. The grapes come from plot 51 from the Finca La Pampa that was planted in 2007 at 1,300 meters altitude on sandy soils rich in calcium carbonate. They were pressed with a pneumatic press and the juice fermented with dry yeasts in French oak barrels with partial malolactic and aging in contact with the lees for some eight months. It has a balanced nose mixing creaminess and yellow fruit aromas with hints of spices and smoke, showing good development with a honeyed twist. The palate is fresh, with good acidity and clean flavors and that caramel/honey note in the finish. This is ready now.

Elegant and well-structured, with a core of pear and apple flavors that are supported by vibrant acidity. Cream and honeysuckle notes linger into the powerfully minerally and spicy finish. Drink now through 2022.

Woody aromas of apple and pear are what a quality Chardonnay should smell like. From one of Mendoza's coolest spots (San Pablo), this is a fleshy, well-built wine with a mix of baked apple, popcorn and woody flavors. A slight hint of white truffle and oxidation on the finish suggests that this at peak or just slightly past it. Drink now.

Deep, lush blackberry and baked plum aromas announce a ripe Malbec from high elevation. Saturated on the palate with tartaric acid boost, this tastes of fig, prune, blackberry and chocolate. On the finish, these flavors settle nicely and fade out with ease.

Dense and fruity with sliced cooked apples and lemon-skin character. Full body and hints of vanilla and cream. Flavorful finish. Drink now.

Yellow-gold with a green tinge. Deep, leesy aromas of peach, apricot, grilled notes and smoked meat, complicated by lavender and marzipan nuances. Plush, rich, fine-grained and dry, with the wine's oak and mineral components keeping its ripe stone fruit flavors under wraps today. Suave, restrained Chardonnay with harmonious acidity and a complex rising finish. Salentein's Finca San Pablo vineyard is planted at a density of 10,000 vines to the hectare on low-vigor soil at an altitude of 1,600 meters.

February 2015

The 2013 Single Vineyard Chardonnay is sourced form a vineyard in San Pablo in the Tunuyán department at some 1,600 meters altitude, their highest altitude vineyard. The soils are very sandy. The wine had the full Monty, that is to say fermentation in oak barrels, full malolactic and 10 months aging. There are notes of cereals, smoke, yeasts and ripe yellow fruit. The palate is medium-bodied, with good acidity, sharp rather than round and an ending with good chalky minerality.
