BackgroundAs a winemaker, you need vision, strength, precision and drive to craft exceptional wine. The Philosophy is the result of this focus and the pinnacle of the McGuigan portfolio.

The Philosophy is a limited-release blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz sourced from small parcels of super-premium fruit grown in the Clare Valley region of South Australia, a region renowned for producing red wines with distinct power yet refined elegance. The Cabernet grapes are from the Seven Hills area of the Clare Valley, where warm days aid in optimal ripeness and cool nights assist in creating balance. Shiraz fruit comes from the slightly warmer area of Auburn in Clare Valleys southern edge.

The Philosophy is a full-bodied wine with great depth, structure and lingering concentration due to 24 months in French oak. It is a wine that truly represents the McGuigan family's dedication to winemaking.
VinificationFirst pressings are fermented in concrete open fermenters before maturing an additional 24 months in new and 12-month-old French oak. The wine is then bottled & stored for an additional two years before release.
ColorDeep crimson with hints of purple.
NoseLifted aromas of cassis and blackberries with subtle hints of dry herbs.
PalateFull-bodied with deep layers of cassis, blueberries and plum. Great depth and lingering concentration.
