About Kingsbarns Distillery

Independent Lowland-Spirit.

Originally an agricultural settlement, the origins of the Kingsbarns name comes from the location of the barns used to store grain. Our spirits are made with locally-grown barley, water from the distillery's own aquafier that's filtered through 300 million-year-old sandstone, and two strains of yeast to create the distillery's fruity and light Lowland-style spirit. The distillery is located just a few miles away from St. Andrews, one of the most renowned golf courses in the world.

A small family-run distillery, Kingsbarns was established in 2014. Proudly independent and quietly determined, our vision is to make beautiful Lowland-style single malts from our home in Fife on Scotland’s East Coast. Our whisky is carefully distilled with a particularly long fermentation process and taken from a high cut point, the Kingsbarns spirit style is characterized by a light elegance, and fruity, floral notes. Mindful of balance, we pair the spirit with the wood, marrying it with hand-selected casks to enhance and complement our signature profile.
