BackgroundLancers was launched in 1944 after Henry Behar visited Portugal with the purpose of finding a rose wine that would appeal to the American palate. The wine was named Lancers in tribute to the painting "Las Lanzas" by Velazquez, a favorite of Mr. Behar. In addition to this lively, aromatic rose; Lancers offers a fun, refreshing white wine. Both are made from a variety of carefully selected Portuguese grapes. Enjoy Lancers Rose on its own or with a variety of foods. Pairs well with Italian, Oriental or spicy dishes such as Mexican or Indian. Serve well chilled.
VinificationRed grapes are fermented apart from their skins at a temperature of approximately 60ºF. The wine then undergoes a process known as “continuous method” which provides Lancers Rose with its touch of effervescence.
ColorClear, bright pink with a salmon hue.
NoseFragrant, with scents of red berries and tropical fruit.
PalateDelightfully approachable style, with lively fruit flavors that extend into the finish.
