DescriptionLocated near Verona in the province of Veneto, Italy, Vinicola Bertani is one of the regions most important and influential wine producers. Founded in 1857 by two brothers, Vinicola Bertani owns its vineyards and oversees the entire winemaking cycle.
VinificationHarvest began in early September. Ripe, unblemished grapes are carefully laid out to dry, losing up to 60% of their water content, yielding concentrated sugar and flavors. Fermentation lasts 50 days. The wine is aged in oak casks for 6 and a half years.
ColorIntense ruby with red highlights.
NoseHints of red fruit, prunes and sweet spices such as clove and cinnamon. Licorice, box hedge, thyme and nutty overtones develop later.
PalateElegant and supple tannins with flavors of dried cherry and fig.
