756 tons of CO2 saved per year
Geothermal heat helps to power the air-conditioning system throughout the buildings on site. Essentially, natural heat from the earth is extracted and converted into power that runs the cooling system. In addition, thermal energy is another source of energy; water is extracted from a drilled hole in the ground, then transferred to a heat-pump unit and converted into thermal energy. Both geothermal and thermal energy, along with other alternative sources for electricity, conserves about 756 tons of CO2 per year.
