Production areaThis wine is Pure Cabernet Sauvignon from Lodi. Graced by cool Delta Breezes and minerality from ancient Sierre Granite soils, this site adds layers of ripeness, fruit flavors and acidity structure in this hand tended fruit.
BackgroundFrench for my brother, Mon Frere is a tribute to those special friends who feel like family. Mon Frere Winery champions the very best in quality wine making and exceptional value from California.
VinificationSeptember 2022 harvest All of our fruit is hand sorted and fully destemmed and crushed to stainless steel tanks. Cold soaks (5-7 days), warm fermentations (85-90° F), and moderate pump overs were done this year in order to express the 2022 vintage. Total skin contact ranged from 18-25 days pressed and put to barrel on full fermentation lees for ML. One racking per year Native yeast used along with D254. This Cabernet Sauvignon is aged for 6 months with French 90% and American 10% oak. Only 10% new oak is used each year.
ColorThis Cabernet Sauvignon shows a dark garnet color with deep purple layers.
NoseThe aromas are focused with plum and blackberry. Elegant floral layers enhance the oak influence.
PalateFruit is generous on the pallet with bold texture and a juicy mouth feel. Bright acidity compliments the rich flavors and provides for a long finish with distinct balance. The pallet is firm and long and begs another glass.
