Cherry tart and red plum flavors mix easily in this zesty red. Spice and cream details show on the juicy finish, with savory herbal touches. Drink now through 2019.

Bright ruby-red. Attractive minty lift to the aromas of cassis, licorice and tobacco leaf. Juicy, tight and penetrating, offering pure, well-delineated berry, herb and licorice flavors but limited pliancy in the early going. This intensely flavored, savory but backward wine is not quite ready for prime time but has the density and structure to last well. Most impressive today on the firm, ripely tannic, long finish.

Bright medium red. Aromas of plum, blackberry, cherry and pepper, plus a whiff of menthol. Supple, fine-grained and juicy; a fruity, spicy midweight with good lift to its red berry and tobacco flavors. A positive touch of herbs adds energy and lift. Finishes with a firm dusting of tannins and good length. Nicely made.

Dark red. Aromas of plum, currant, pepper and spicy oak. Suave in texture, showing a distinctly cool aspect and very good energy to its currant and pepper flavors. Finishes with broad, sweet, fine-grained tannins and nice persistence.

A minerally style, with meaty overtones to the dark plum, wet earth and hot stone flavors. Espresso and sanguine notes fill the dense, pure-tasting finish.
