Frank Phelan is the second label from Ch. Phélan-Segur. Once the prized estate of the Count of Ségur, who also owned Châteaux Lafite and Latour, this splendid early 10th century château was acquired in the first half of the 19th century by Frank Phélan, an Irish businessman and mayor of Saint-Estèphe. The estate is now owned by the dynamic Gardinier family.

Grape Varieties
60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30%, Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc

Vinification
Grapes are harvested manually. The must is fermented for 20 days on the lees at 82-86ºF in stainless steel tanks and is then fined using egg whites. The wine ages 12 months in oak barrels with 30 to 40% new barrels each year.

Deep purple

Bouquet
Classic aromas of ripe cassis, fruit and black currant.

Taste
Tannins mingle beautifully with ripe fruit, leading to a long and lingering finish.

12.5%
