90 Points

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Salentein Reserva from Los Arboles in the Uco Valley delivers delicate notes of blackcurrant, mint, thyme and black olives. Terse and nimble in the mouth, the grip ensures a good character. The vintage and year in the bottle make all the difference in terms of flavor. -J.H.

Bright ruby-red. Attractive minty lift to the aromas of cassis, licorice and tobacco leaf. Juicy, tight and penetrating, offering pure, well-delineated berry, herb and licorice flavors but limited pliancy in the early going. This intensely flavored, savory but backward wine is not quite ready for prime time but has the density and structure to last well. Most impressive today on the firm, ripely tannic, long finish.

The 2015 Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Valle de Uco, from their El Oasis estate vineyards at Los Árboles and was produced fermenting the destemmed and crushed grapes after a cold soak and aging the wine in oak barrels for one year. This is a wine that shows quite varietal, with that blend of raspberries and a spicy and herbal touch. The palate reveals the classical Cabernet tannins, with elegance and good freshness. There is one single blend and multiple bottlings of it. 194,900 bottles produced.

Bright medium red. Aromas of plum, blackberry, cherry and pepper, plus a whiff of menthol. Supple, fine-grained and juicy; a fruity, spicy midweight with good lift to its red berry and tobacco flavors. A positive touch of herbs adds energy and lift. Finishes with a firm dusting of tannins and good length. Nicely made.
