Bodegas Campillo belongs to the internationally renowned, family-owned Grupo Faustino and is nestled in the foothills of the breathtaking Cantabria Mountains. This showcase 125-acre winery, with its stunning setting and architecture, was envisioned by company leader Julio Faustino Martínez. And, no expense was spared in the execution of its design. Campillo’s magnificent cellaring facility houses over three million bottles of hand-crafted Rioja wines of exceptional quality.
Bodegas Campillo has become a benchmark for wine tourism in Spain. Certainly, visitors can experience a wide range of tailor-made, seasonal activities, including a unique tasting course in which participants are taught to use their five senses in sequences to discover which wines they like and why. The tasting begins with white wines, followed by rosé and concludes with red wines of different vintages.
Basic tours of Bodegas Campillo last about an hour and include a guided tour of the winery and a guided tasting of Campillo’s prestige wines. At harvest time, tours take 90 minutes and include a tasting of freshly-crushed grapes. Visitors can also visit the magnificent Campillo vineyards, weather permitting.
