Heritage and enterprise are hallmarks of Chile’s Santa Rita winery. Founded in 1880, this historic property was among the first to pioneer plantings of European grape varieties in Chile.
Floresta is an innovative line of limited production, terroir-driven varietal wines, hand-crafted from the finest grapes. Production Area
From Carneros Norte vineyards at the Alto Jahuel estate in Chile’s Maipo region. Sandy soils are enriched by strata from the nearby Andes. A high alkaline content derives from ionic calcium deposits from the Maipo River. The area enjoys a semi-arid Mediterranean climate, with rainfall concentrated in the winter months. The September-March growing season is dry. Cool drafts of air from the Andes lead to considerable cooling at night, with day-night thermal oscillations sometimes varying by as much as 20˚C.

Grape Varieties
100% Syrah

Vinification
Harvesting is by hand. After de-stemming and crushing, grapes are pressed, with the exception of a few batches subjected to an extended maceration at controlled temperatures, to avoid oxidation. Drop selection is performed through careful tastings, choosing only those batches demonstrating optimum structure and freshness. The wine is aged 16 months in French oak barrels and neither clarified nor filtered prior to bottling and release.

Intense ruby red with violet hues

Bouquet
Fragrant, with ripe black fruit and spice notes, balanced by hints of sweet vanilla, toffee and dark chocolate from barrel aging.

Taste
Voluptuous and richly concentrated, with soft, elegant tannins. This is a wine with excellent aging potential
