| Storage |

|
Cognac bottles should be stored upright
to prevent cork taint. |

|
Cognac is best stored at room temperature. |

|
Immediately after pouring, re-cork
the bottle of cognac. Do not leave a bottle of cognac
opened for very long - otherwise the contents will
evaporate. |
| |
| Serving |
| When serving
cognac the type of glass that is used is important: |

|
Should be served in a glass that fits
comfortably in the hand. |

|
Glass should be thin-rimmed; avoid
overly narrow glasses or ones that are too deep. |

|
The glass should narrow slightly at
the top - this helps to trap aromas and direct them
toward the nose. |

|
The glass should be large enough to
fill about ¼ capacity |

|
A thin glass is crucial - the delicate
aromas can be released slowly through the warmth of
the hand. |

|
Just before tasting, rinse the glass
out with a drop of the same cognac that is about to
be enjoyed. Cognac glasses should be washed in clear,
warm water, without detergent. |
