Made from vines that are over 60 years old and planted in the granitic soils of Saint-Jean-de Muzols. Vivid purple. Complex aromas of cassis, violet, Indian spices and smoky minerals: very syrah. Taut and linear on the plate, with bright acidity sharpening fresh black and blue fruit flavors. Shows very good concentration and focus on the finish, which is firmed by smooth, even tannins.

VinificationGrapes are picked manually. The fermentation consists of 3-4 days of pre-maceration, 7 days of fermentation and 3 weeks of post-maceration. The juice is free run, and the wine is aged for 12 months in 15% new oak and the rest in 1 to 4 year old barrels. The wine is fined just before bottling, and is unfiltered.
