Whether or not you approve of the name, this is an impressive zweigelt, its dark cherry and raspberry flavors gaining complexity from hints of game and wood smoke. The contrast between juicy fruitiness and edgier, earthier components creates vibrant tension.

Grape Varieties100% Zweigelt
DescriptionThe result of an Austrian market filled with clutter and confusion, The Dot, created by winemaker Roman Pfaffl Jr., was introduced in 2008 to provide a clear message: Austrian wine is simple and delicious. The Dot is wholly supported by the team at Pfaffl Winery, who received a nomination for European Winery of the Year (2016) from Wine Enthusiast Magazine. This innovative, young and smart brand is a sensation on the Austrian and international wine market with focus on Gruner Veltliner, Zweigelt and St. Laurent -- the most important varieties of Lower Austria. The Dot consists of high quality, approachable, food-friendly wine combined with inventive packaging that calls out the primary fruit aroma and flavor in the wine.
