A juicy, floral style, with fresh pineapple, star fruit and honeysuckle notes, followed by a flash of almond on the finish.

Amour de Dieu Condrieu
July 2012

Very pure, with a lovely, creamy mouthfeel. Sports melon, mango, peach and butter notes, with a fine minerality buried on the finish. Drink now through 2008.

Daily Wine Picks

This offers a direct beam of white peach, heather and Cavaillon melon notes, gilded with a butter accent and ending with a fresh finish. Drink now through 2018.

Green-tinged yellow. Fresh orange, white peach and honey scents are sharpened by a smoky mineral note that builds with air. Fleshy and seamless in texture, offering sappy orchard and pit fruit flavors and a bracing jolt of citrus zest that adds back-end cut. Shows very good energy and strong thrust on the long, mineral-laced finish, which leaves behind an exotic honeyed note.

July 2017

Bright yellow. Aromas of fresh orchard and pit fruits, white flowers and honey carry a smoky mineral overtone. Silky and energetic on the palate, offering lively peach and bitter pear skin flavors that show very good depth and focus. On the lithe side of the Condrieu equation, with zero excess fat. Closes on a repeating mineral note, with very good cling and nervy persistence.

March 2016

Delicious, with a direct, plump core of creamed peach and yellow apple fruit, lined with light chamomile and honeysuckle notes. A salted butter hint lines the finish. Drink now. 600 cases made.

This wine seems broad across the palate, but not quite as deep as some Condrieus. The fruit is understated, resembling gently toasted marshmallow and maybe a touch of baked pineapple, rather than flamboyant apricot and spice. Plan on serving it with fish or chicken rather than something rich or extravagant.

A plump and forward style, with notes of star fruit, pineapple and yellow apple, backed by a floral edge that lends just enough freshness to the finish.

Pale gold. Mineral-tinged aromas of orange zest and fresh pineapple, with hints of crystallized ginger and jasmine. Silky and creamy on the palate, offering lively tangerine and bitter pear skin flavors that put on weight with aeration. Densely packed and concentrated yet lithe, finishing with strong thrust and clinging spiciness.

A lush, creamy style, with pear, yellow apple, white peach and floral notes backed by a freshly churned butter note. A flash of green almond offsets the ripe fruit beautifully.

Light, bright yellow. Fresh, floral-accented peach and pear aromas are brightened by notes of green tea and dusty minerals. Juicy and light on its feet, offering bright orchard fruit flavors and a touch of anise. Fleshy but lithe, finishing with very good clarity and a hint of succulent herbs.

Made in a very clean and classy style, the barrel-fermented Condrieu offers textbook white flowers, citrus, and mineral qualities along with a medium-bodied, juicy, and lively palate. Well put together, with an overall balanced, delicious profile that gains steam in the glass, it should be enjoyed over the coming 4-5 years.
