Historically, J.M. da Fonseca is a southern Portugal company with family roots in the Setúbal Peninsula and Alentejo. The Douro Valley, home of Port and exquisite red table wines, represents the latest venture for this acclaimed producer. With Domini and Domini Plus, the Soares Franco family, owners of J.M. da Fonseca, have set out on a mission to showcase the full potential of the Douro’s grapes, and the excellence this region’s dry red table wines are capable of attaining. DOMINI PLUS is a very limited edition wine and is produced strictly in exceptional vintages.

Grapes come from 10 acres in the Douro Superior region of northern Portugal. The well-drained soil is composed chiefly of schist, and vines average 20 years in age.

60% Touriga Franca, 30% Tinta Roriz, 10% Touriga Nacional
Vinification
Traditional fermentation is carried out with full skin contact at a controlled temperature of approximately 82ºF. The resulting wine spends 12 months in new French oak casks before bottling and release. Bottled May 2009.
