Historically, J.M. da Fonseca is a southern Portugal company with family roots in the Setúbal Peninsula and Alentejo. The Douro Valley, home of Port and exquisite red table wines, represents the latest venture for this acclaimed producer. With Domini and Domini Plus, the Soares Franco family, owners of J.M. da Fonseca, have set out on a mission to showcase the full potential of the Douro’s grapes, and the excellence this region’s dry red table wines are capable of attaining.

Production Area
Douro Valley, Portugal Grapes are grown on a 28-acre vineyard in the Douro Superior region of northern Portugal. The well-drained soil is composed chiefly of schist, and vines average 20 years in age.

Grape Varieties
45% Touriga Franca, 45% Touriga Nacional, 10% Tinta Roriz

Vinification
Traditional fermentation is carried out with full skin contact at a controlled temperature of approximately 82ºF. The resulting wine spends three months in new American oak barrels before bottling and release

Dark ruby red

Bouquet
Fruit forward, with aromas of violets and cassis

Taste
Full-bodied, fruity and well-balanced acidity against a backdrop of soft tannins

Serving Suggestions
Properly stored, with bottles laid on their side in a cool, dark, slightly humid environment, this wine can be enjoyed for up to six years after release.
