Arrogant Frog is an estate-bottled wine created and produced by Jean-Claude Mas, 4th-Generation Winemaker. Steeped in legacy, and heritage, Jean-Claude’s unwavering commitment to creating superior wines is his direct response to an “arrogant” assumption that the Languedoc region can’t produce world class wines. This passion has resulted in the domaine becoming the largest privately-owned winery in France outside Champagne, and Arrogant Frog becoming an international success with its engaging, easy-going, and elegant style.
100% Pinot Noir.
De-stemmed grapes spend 3 days macerating with skin contact at 50°F, followed by fermentation at 77°F. An additional 5 days maceration follows before pressing. Only the first press is included in final wine. Half of the wine is then aged in new oak barrels for 4 months and the other half remains in stainless steel vats. The wine is blended and then spends an additional 2 months in vat prior to bottling.
Bright medium ruby.
Very elegant with aromas of fresh strawberry, cherry, and sweet spices with a hint of vanilla.
Medium-bodied with ripe, silky tannins and firm acidity and a long finish.
Drink with flavorful appetizers, hors d'oeuvres, white meat entrees, salmon, and cheese platters.
