Pinot Noir

Download Complete Production Notes

Alta Luna (“High Moon”) Pinot Noir represents the finest selection of Pinot Noir grapes from prime vineyard sites situated in the foothills of Italy’s Dolomite Alps. This region provides the perfect conditions for producing some of the best quality Pinot Noir grapes in the world. Our winemakers have crafted a singular wine that exudes a seductive bouquet and a rich, silky palate.

Production Area
Grapes are grown in hilly areas located between 300-500 meters above sea level. Pinot Noir has been cultivated in this area for more than a century. The well-drained, richly textured soil is of glacial-alluvial origin.

Grape Varieties
100% Pinot Noir

Vinification
Grapes are harvested by hand and undergo a traditional red fermentation in stainless steel tanks, including maceration on the skins for 6-7 days. The resulting wine is refined in stainless steel then aged in French oak barrels for a brief period, during which malolactic fermentation occurs. This judicious use of oak results in complexity, roundness and softness on the palate.

Color
Ruby red, with brick red nuances

Bouquet
Cherry, plum and berry aromas mingle with notes of spice and tobacco.

Taste
Soft, supple tannins and refreshing acidity are beautifully balanced by ripe cherry fruit flavors on the palate. Dry, harmonious and elegant.

Serving Suggestions
A delicious match with tuna, salmon, chicken and grilled meats.
