Palm Bay International - Company History
As one of North America’s premier names in imported fine wines and spirits, Palm Bay International has a long-established history of introducing authentic, distinctive treasures from the world’s
premier growing regions to wine and spirits lovers
across the U.S.
Over the past three decades, this family-owned company has assembled one of the most valuable and comprehensive portfolios of imported wines and spirits in the U.S., comprising some of the world’s most prestigious wine estates, distilleries and most popular brands in the industry. Behind this success story is a well-defined objective of providing top-quality, authentic products that represent excellent value. This goal is supported by a committed, caring and dedicated approach to business, and a focus on brand development through long-term relationships with partners, backed by consistently excellent service and superior resources.
The Palm Bay story begins over three decades ago in 1977, when David Taub and his father, Martin, created the company with a foundation in two Italian brands – Principato and the Cavit Collection. Within seven years, annual sales of Principato had achieved almost half a million cases and, with the Cavit Collection, Palm Bay became a seminal pioneer of the Pinot Grigio category. Today, Cavit Pinot Grigio is the number one selling imported wine from Italy in the U.S.
In the years that have followed, Palm Bay has added many eminent wine and spirits producers from around the world to its growing portfolio. We currently represent some 75 brands spanning four continents, with distribution extending to all 50 states, as well as Mexico and the Caribbean. As such, the company has earned a reputation as a go-to source for a carefully selected range of wines and spirits from around the globe that offer quality and value within their respective categories.
Today, company Chairman & CEO David Taub is joined by his son, Marc Taub, President and COO of Palm Bay International, representing the third generation of the family-owned company. Under their combined leadership, Palm Bay International is on target to continue this dynamic pattern of strategic growth in a quest to bring an authentic wine and spirits experience to consumers around the U.S.
