1933

One day after the repeal of Prohibition, Martin Taub launched a brandy rectifying business with his brothers, Jacob and Abner. It was the Taub family’s first entry into wine and spirits — and a tradition that would be carried on by Martin’s son David, grandson Marc, and great-grandchildren Jake and Chloe.

1977

Palm Bay Imports (now Palm Bay International) is founded by David S. Taub together with his father Martin. David famously championed pinot grigio in the U.S., ​while fostering the growth of an exciting, increasingly global wine portfolio.

1979

Cavit wines are launched in the U.S. market, laying the foundation for what will become one of the most powerful imported wine brands in America. Today, Cavit is the #1 Italian wine brand in America*. (*Nielsen xAOC +Liq Latest 52 Wks – w/e 9/9/23)

David S. Taub is honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at Wine Enthusiast Magazine’s annual Wine Star Awards. He is celebrated as “a visionary for introducing Italian Pinot Grigio to America” and “one of wine and spirits’ most energetic leaders, and a friend as much as a business partner to the many with whom he has interacted.”

First vintage release of Taub Family Vineyards. Under Marc Taub’s pioneering leadership, the family began making significant long-term investments in the California wine business. This label encompasses multiple expressions of outstanding Napa cabernet sauvignon from some of the region’s top single vineyards and AVAs.

Palm Bay adds Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin to the portfolio. This rapidly rising star was named Spirit Brand of the Year in 2022 by Wine Enthusiast Magazine.

The entire range of wines from Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) joins the portfolio, bringing a robust French ​element to complement the family’s historic Italian portfolio.​

2018

The Taub family acquires the 450-acre Saracina ranch in Hopland, Mendocino. Recognizing massive untapped potential in the region, they engage leading viticulture and soil experts, investing in a major vineyard replanting project that paves the way for Saracina to become the reference point for outstanding wine from Mendocino County.

Jake Taub joins the organization, working alongside his father Marc Taub and representing the 4th generation in this family business.

2020
